BPS Meter app for iPhone and iPad
This simple utility allows you to measure the rate of fire of any paintball marker up to 35 BPS. Using the microphone for input, it can measure the shots from your paintball marker using sound. It displays the maximum rate of fire in BPS (Balls Per Second) and in MS (milliseconds between shots). It will also display the number of shots fired, and the average rate of fire.
Designed with serious tournament paintball players in mind, The BPS METER is incredibly accurate and simple to use. But... Anyone from recreational players to someone who wants to know once and for all how fast they can shoot will benefit from this application.
Will work with iPhone, iPhone 3G iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, and iPod Touch* Gen2
*If using this application with an iPod Touch, an external mic is required.
Pros and cons of BPS Meter app for iPhone and iPad
BPS Meter app good for
A great way to get the effect of having a pact timer without dropping over a hundred bucks. Awesome for adjusting your gun to psps ever changing bps cap!
This app works great!! I used it to check the ROF on my KWA m4 running a lipo and high torque motor and it worked perfectly I even compared it to my chronology and got the same results. Very happy with the accuracy of this app and recommend it to any airsofter or paintballer!!! The only con about this app, which isnt even really a con, is that personally I think the design of the app itself is kinda ugly. Haha, other than that, excellent app!!!
Some people are saying that this app wont detect their shots or the app wont open altogether. I cant speak for them but it seems to work for me without hassle. It was meant for paintball but I purchased this for airsoft. We just place the device on a side near the end of the barrel and dry-fire (louder than with ammo) the gun and the app does what it says. And it is accurate within (+ -) 2 bps VS. my friends $200 chrono. The only reason I say 4/5 stars is considering that it does a fairly simple task, it feels like it should be a $.99 app instead of $1.99, only complaint. If you/your friends want to get a ballpark of what your guns shoot, Id say purchase it. Otherwise, if you want professional quality, get a real one. Its only an iPod microphone people!
I tested oit on both my azodin itz and dp fusion fx ... Worked great you just need to adjust the volume
I love it, i use it with my 4th generation iPod touch and my tippmann a-5 with an e-grip and i dont even have to use a tank and dry fire n2 out of it, it just hears the clicks of the grip
Some bad moments
Very, very inaccurate when dealing with high ROF. Especially with highly modified airsoft guns which run off Li-Po batteries and have a MOSFET switch.
Running it on iPhone, it works very poorly. Shooting an ego, it registers about 1/2 the shots. Readings are clearly mistaken. Hoped for a working app. Wasted 2 dollars. Possibly an update will fix.
I tested this with multiple guns capped at various settings. It was not accurate enough to bother using. Waste of money.
